We’ve been huge fans of Kid Phix since way back when he was known as May-Day, so we were thrilled to get the chance to do an interview with him just before he was due to open for Hopsin and the Funk Volume crew!

We were also lucky enough to get the chance to hear his super catchy unreleased track King Leo. Upbeat and totally addictive, this track once again showcases Kid Phix’s flawless vocals and unique flavor. Always one to sample interesting beats, King Leo is comparable to Big Spender in the fact that the beat is something that we’re not really seeing  other artists use, and that’s probably a good thing. It takes a rapper of Kid Phix’s caliber to take something as different as this instrumental and make it into a dope hip hop track!

Kid Phix is definitely one to look out for in the future!
